| Yangshuo Mountain Retreat features one of the biggest wine selections among Yangshuo bars. In addition to the wines you see listed on our wine page, we have many more in stock, from South Africa, France, Italy, Chile and Australia, which we also feature in Luna, our sister hotel Yangshuo Village Inn. Our wines are chosen to bring out the best in our mostly local Chinese menu, accentuating their spicy, garlicy, and gingery qualities. Some popular wines include a crisp Italian Pino grigio, Italian valpocella, South African pinotage, and California cabernet. None of these wines are expensive, but over the years we have limited our selection to those the guests prefer, so our collection is small but excellent. If you haven't tried Chinese wine, the Great Wall cabernet is palatable, though dry and the alcohol can sometimes be overwhelming. But if aerated and especially with more oily food, it is quite nice. Very few Yangshuo restaurants serve anything but the local wine, so Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is a special place to enjoy a variety of imported wines. A bottle of wine in front of the Retreat, on the banks of the Dragon River is a wonderful way to end the day in Yangshuo.
