The Yangshuo Mountain Retreat Homestay Network

A one-off opportunity to really experience authentic rural life in China, eat delicious traditional food and learn how local villagers lead their daily lives in the Yu Long River valley is through our Yangshuo homestay network.
We have brought together a network of homestays through the direct families or close relatives of our staff. All the homestays are nearby to our Yangshuo hotel and are located in ancient local villages that dot the Yangshuo countryside. With being so close to the hotel, you can leave your luggage with us explore the fascinating culture of the local inhabitants in Yangshuo County.

We will arrange for you to be picked up by your host in the late afternoon at the Retreat and taken to one of the villages in our homestay network home.
You will join the host and sit down to eat spending the evening with their family. You will also sleep over in the family home in a bed prepared with fresh linens. The next day you will have a traditional Yangshuo breakfast and have the chance to participate in an activity with one or more of the family members. Some of the activities will cost extra but the decision is yours as to what you want to do the next day. This can be arranged in advance through YSMR or the family member.

Culture Tours from YSMR

Local village walking tour
Enjoy a walk through the scenic Yangshuo countryside and explore some of the villages on the way. To visit the villages on market days please arrange in advance.

Fishing Village
Beautifully located on the banks of the Li River this old village has some of the best preserved local buildings from the Ming dynasty in the whole of Southwest China.

Fuli, the village of the fans
Watch the intricate paper fans being made and hand painted in this sleepy old town set on the banks of the Li River.
