Train to guilin Yangshuo

There are several options from Guilin to Yangshuo to fit your schedule and budget. There are direct flights to Guilin from all major Chinese cities including Hong Kong, as well as from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei and Seoul. There is also high-speed rail service directly to to Yangshuo from Guangzhou South Station as well as frequent buses from neighboring provincial cities. The old 321 National Highway has been widened to four lanes and there is a mostly-empty toll expressway from Guilin to Yangshuo, which cuts down travel time significantly. If you're already in Guilin and are not in a hurry to get here, we strongly recommend the Li River cruise to Yangshuo.

Guilin to Yangshuo - Li River Cruise to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat
LI RIVER CRUISE

The Li River cruise begins from the wharf South of Liberation Bridge in downtown Guilin. There is also the option of a one-hour bus ride to the Bamboo River Wharf (Zhujiang Wharf) or the Millstone Hill Wharf (Mopanshan Wharf) to start the cruise from its most scenic start. All tourists taking a Li River cruise are required to show passports when booking ship tickets and boarding. You will also need to be at the wharf at least 30 minutes before departure to leave enough time for passport inspection. Those who can't provide valid passports should go to the police station near Zhujiang Wharf to ask for a temporary ID proof 30 minutes before departure. The Li River cruise is over 52 miles (83 kilometers) long and takes over four hours. The other-worldly scenery is amazing at every turn in the Li River.
Please communicate with the boat company guide during the cruise that for your pickup, they need to call Mountain Retreat reception Call (0773-8777-091) 15 minutes before arrival. That will allow us to arrange the driver for pickup.
When you get off the boat at Yangshuo wharf (Longtou Shan Wharf 龙头山), please walk up the steps and turn Right (the opposite way that the Chinese tourists are departing) and walk for about a minute. Our driver will know to look for you there.

Guilin South Station

There are taxis available and the price should be no more than RMB ¥300 to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat. Please confirm the price with the driver first! Our private car is the same price for a taxi driver to take you from there to the Retreat (RMB ¥300 for a sedan, RMB ¥400 for a van). The ride takes about 90 minutes.


Guilin North Station

Our sedan costs RMB ¥350, a van RMB ¥450 as it is further from Yangshuo and traffic is less convenient.


Yangshuo Xingping Station

For travelers coming from Shenzhen, first take a taxi from Shenzhen North station to Guangzhou South Sation, which is only about 30 minutes and costs about RMB ¥75. From Guangzhou South the express train takes three hours to Yangshuo station. It's about 42 km from Yangshuo train station to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat and costs RMB ¥180. During your journey, please call Yangshuo Mountain Retreat reception (0773-8777-091) to ask for a pickup at the parking area outside the terminus. Please note that any taxis who are not registered within the Yulong River Scenic Area will not be able to drive to the Retreat.

BY BUS

From the Yangshuo Bus Station, we can arrange pickup to the Retreat for RMB ¥40. It is 15 minutes from here to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat.

We highly recommend letting our local team arrange a trusted private driver for your arrival to avoid haggling or navigation issues. A private door-to-door sedan pickup from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport costs RMB ¥300 and takes approximately 70 minutes directly to our property. Larger groups can book a 7-seat van for RMB ¥400 or an 11-seat van for RMB ¥450. For rail travelers, a private sedan from Guilin South Station is RMB ¥300 (a 90-minute ride), while a pickup from Guilin North Station is RMB ¥350 for a sedan or RMB ¥450 for a van. Can any regular city taxi or Didi drive directly to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat?

No, and this is a critical detail for your trip planning. Because our eco-lodge sits directly on the banks of the Yulong River, we are positioned within a strictly protected eco-scenic zone. Our private car service costs the exact same as a standard highway taxi meter but grants you seamless, unrestricted access directly to our front door. Didi drivers also know our property well and can take you for a discounted rate if you have the Didi or Alipay app.

How do we arrive via the Li River Cruise, and how does the wharf pickup work?

Taking the historic 4-to-5-hour Li River cruise from Guilin is the most scenic way to kick off your stay. Please remember that all cruise lines require you to present a valid physical passport to book tickets and board the ship. To synchronize your pickup, please ask the boat guide or call our reception desk at 0773-8777-091 roughly 15 minutes before your boat docks. When you disembark at the Yangshuo wharf (Longtou Shan Wharf), walk up the exit steps and turn immediately Right. This is the opposite direction of the main tourist crowds, leading you to a peaceful vehicle parking area where our local driver will be waiting to take you on the final 15-minute drive to the Retreat.

What is the best high-speed rail route to the Retreat from Hong Kong or Guangzhou?

China’s high-speed rail network makes traveling from major southern hubs incredibly efficient. If you are coming from Hong Kong, there are many direct trains to Yangshuo and Guilin. If you are traveling at a time where there are fewer Hong Kong direct trains, you can take a brief 30-minute shuttle train from Hong Kong West Kowloon over to Guangzhou South Station.. From Guangzhou South, frequent express trains run directly to Yangshuo Station in Xingping, taking just under 3 hours. Yangshuo Station is located 42 km away from our resort. We can easily arrange a registered local sedan driver to meet you at the station parking lot for a flat rate of RMB ¥180, getting you quickly through the scenic back roads to our lodge in about 40 minutes.

We are taking a bamboo raft down the Yulong River—can we stop at the Retreat for check-in or dining?

It depends. This is one of the most magical ways to arrive at our property. Our eco-lodge features its very own private riverside landing pier[cite: 1]. If you are enjoying a classic bamboo rafting trip down the Yulong River on your arrival day, or if you are out exploring and want to stop by our farm-to-table restaurant for lunch or a cocktail, simply inform your raft guide ahead of time. Instruct them to pull over and let you off directly at the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat jetty (阳朔胜地码头), which sits roughly 1 km before the crowded public terminus at Gongnong Bridge.. You can step right off the bamboo logs and straight onto our open-air garden lawnNOTE: Depending on river traffic and conditions, it may not always be possible to do this. Our property is only 1.6km from the raft terminus.
